Yarn Bomb

This statue just around the corner from where I work has stood there for years, but there's not even a plaque to say why it's there or what it represents.

This Christmas it has been yarn-bombed as Santa and an Elf, partly to try and draw attention to the statue and to see whether any history emerges. It cheers up a noisy and polluted corner of the city.
