We had a foggy ride today down the beautiful A303 to Somerset to visit my sister and help her celebrate her birthday.
It was the first time we had visited their new home, a semi detached cottage on the edge of a village. They had downsized and are still trying to find a place for all their possessions. In the garden were several semi derelict out buildings, and J's husband has worked hard making them weatherproof and usable. There are lots of tall trees in the garden, such a change from their former home, high on the Mendip Hills.
The birthday celebrations included a visit from her step-daughter with her twin sons, and then a pub meal for the four of us together with J and R's son with his partner. It was a happy evening with a lot of laughter. It was good to be staying in their snug new home.
