Straggler

Fall is definitely upon and the cool weather is rapidly approaching. The week has been warm, but today definitely had a coolness about it that was fall-like. We are also seeing the trees begin to change color. This is my first fall as a member of blip and I am enjoying the changing seasons.

Today, I went out for a brief blip walk during lunch. There was a series of shots that I was determined were good and I was going to post, but none turned out the way I wanted when I reviewed them. It is weird how that happens, sometimes things look good through the lens and then poorly on screen and other times the opposite happens. Fortunately, I always take multiple different pictures for just this eventuality.

In this picture we see a flower-like straggler. Most of the flowers are gone with the arrival of cool weather, but this one continues on. I give the little guy credit for robustness.

I chose the shot to highlight the flower and its various colors. I also liked the shadow. This was taken hand held with my 100mm macro lens. I find myself using that lens frequently and highly recommend it to others.

On another note, I will be off the blip grid for a few days and so look for some upcoming back blips.
