Doors
When I am with someone I pour myself into them so much so that when I am am inevitably alone again I am completely empty. But for me, I see no other way. I love people. I love getting to know details about people, flaws, fears, what they love, their stories.
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy spending time alone more than the next person. I enjoy expanding my creative hobbies chilling out to music and movies or even just being alone with my thoughts. I learn a lot about myself this way but ,at the same time, I find comfort in the fact that there is someone there who I can share what I have learnt with. If I invest myself into someone else, they will help me develop and in return they will hopefully develop too. This doesn’t necessarily only apply to lovers but also with friends and family.
This message is the main inspiration behind my project ‘doors.’ Spending time alone can be beneficial but it’s not until someone is there to open your doors and delve into your innermost thoughts that something really beautiful is created.
The doors represent people. Alone, the doors are unique and you are curious as to what lies behind the door. Layered with other doors they become complex, delicate and intricate with a whole new level of depth.
