Old Meets New at Custom House Quay

I took this from the back of the Beacon Arts Centre at Custom House Quay in Greenock at twilight today.

It shows the old Custom House, which has just been restored, beside the split new Beacon, which is fast becoming a lively cultural hub at the centre of Greenock life.

I was there to meet up with Alec Galloway, the artist who has driven the Absent Voices project, which Blips under the name of SugarSheds1.

We were joined by various people connected to Absent Voices, including fellow AV'er and Blipper, Alastair Cook , poet John Glenday (with Alastair for a recce of the Sugar Sheds for a on Filmpoem business, Paul Bristow (who played a major role in setting up the campaign to save the Sugar Sheds after the Tall Ships Race in 2011) and filmmaker, Bob Pollock (who is documenting Absent Voices' progress).

I even bumped into fellow Blipper, benchnotes, who was there for a Creative Scotland 'do'. Nice to see your actual self, Kenneth!

Busy day... Back home for daughter's school Christmas show, The Wizard of the Oz, in which she played Glinda the good witch.
