Battered

I've had this water bottle for over twenty years. It's been across the Alps and the Pyrenees; it's been to Everest Base Camp, Milford Sound and Ben Nevis. It's been dropped off at least one cliff, dropped in the sea, frozen solid outside a tent in the snow. It's seen a lot.

But that's not why it's so battered. Oh no. It's been Matthew's water bottle for two football seasons. Two years ago it looked almost new.
