The office

The cold storm continues in Cyprus and the papers today were full of stories about snow, and cut off villages, and closed roads, and those without power, and the one tree that fell (in the whole island). One photo in the Cyprus Mail showed an elderly Cypriot lady, dressed in traditional black, shovelling snow off her balcony... I'm not sure at all why anyone would need to clear their balcony of snow, let alone a little old lady. The snow has only hit villages at altitude, but here at sea level it got down to 4 degrees today, which is almost unheard of. Sandra and I managed to get the office reasonably warm with a mixture of aircon units, fan heater and a halogen electric heater... I dread to see our electricity bill. This is me looking sad into a bauble on the office tree - I was still quite chilly at this point.
