Sparkly clean

My friend successfully escaped the Heathrow fog this morning and arrived at the hotel soon after eleven. It's her first visit to Funchal and I think it's true to say she's impressed.

The clean up after the high and destructive waves started quickly and both of our outdoor pools are now sparkly clean and just waiting to be refilled. Sorted !

The plan today was to catch a bus to the caves but after we got to the Forum, the heavens opened. We dashed into Bruno's and had a leisurely lunch while the cloudburst passed.

We needed to walk it off a bit, so we headed down past the Zarco statue, past my favourite restaurant (we've booked for Sunday lunch) only to find the gate across the cave entrance firmly shut.

The photo is of the quaint fishermen's huts, carved out of the rock. I just love this blue.
