DPO

This is one of our Russian Dynamic Positioning Operators or DPO. Most of them are truly whizkids with computers and i think that moving this vessel around with the aid of a joystick is more or less the same game for them as Pacman in the eighties. They know much more of the DP system than I, but only as long as the 220 V plug is in the socket. If you pull it, disaster will strike and most of them are completely lost because they never learned how to manoeuvre with a vessel by means of handles instead of computers. But the win-win situation is that I can learn from them and they can learn from me, so what's the problem?
