March of the (mutant) Penguins

I thought Arlo would want to give some of his friends a Christmas card, so I added making some cards as an activity in his advent calendar. We made these guys last year - potato print penguins - and they were great so we decided to make them again.

Then Arlo announced he wanted one for every kid in his class (Me: what about kid X? do you want to send one to kid X? Arlo: well, you know. Im not really friends with X but I still want him to have a lovely christmas. You cant really argue with that logic) and loads of other kids as well as dinner ladies and Lollypop ladies and his pals in Edinburgh and well, we have an army now.

Arlo's gonna have a sore hand after writing his name loads of times tomorrow.

And then - of course - Ida decided she wanted some for her pals. Hmmm.

I'd like to say that next year we'll just buy a box but I know fine well we won't. Now Arlo's finally into painting and glueing and sticking and googley eyes and glitter and actually making stuff I'm going to embrace it until it gets embarrassing for him.

Which will be never, right!?
