My Starlings are Back......

.........well some of them anyway, along with a few blackbirds. It's nice to see them back safe and sound from their long overseas travels but why they want to come back here for the winter I'll never know, brrrrrr.
Photos have been in short supply here today as we have been shrouded in fog all day, the village is in a dip so we frequently find that we have thick fog but when we drive a few miles out of the village there is beautiful clear sunshine. So I was doubly pleased to see the starling settle in the tree right in front of me as it meant I could get a nice close up if him tucking in. Although I probably won't be quite so pleased to see them in couple of months when they are bullying all the other birds and eating all the food but for now, he's very welcome :-))
