Down at The Mall

Spent most of the day in Maidstone with Susan and Doreen doing more shopping and associated stuff. While Susan had her hair done I pushed Doreen around The Mall so that she could look for various presents. Seemed successful in the end and I was rewarded by a coffee, this time at Nero's.

A foggy day and I was trying to capture the foggyness but to no effect so it had to be a structural image of inside The Mall. I capitalise "The Mall" because that is indeed the imaginative name that has been given to this shopping centre. The Mall. It used to be called the Chequers Centre and before that the Stoneborough Centre. I recall it was just being completed and opened when we moved to Maidstone in 1976.

After a late lunch we went out in the sunshine but arrived back home in the dark having walked around Mote Park as the day ended increasingly cold and foggy with a lovely light and atmosphere in the Park as the daylight faded away. Failed again to capture the essence of the light but then I think it is not always possible to capture digitally what the eye sees.
