The repairs on the Bridge of Remembrance, which leads to the Triumphal Arch, and the centre of town as it looked today.

I find there's something disquieting about watching the city I've known all my life being demolished. It's unsettling to know that the past you had is now only in your memories. Even for people who move away from where they were born and brought up there is the knowing that it's largely all still there, and could potentially be returned to. Not so in Christchurch.
