Onwards and upwards .. Or ... Upwords?

I had hoped to go flying this afternoon with a bit of refresher practice on the landings, but the person who booked the plane before me failed to get it back by the due time which frustrated my efforts. It will just have to be another day!

Played Upwords with Mrs TPV and son number 2 this evening and won handsomely ... Then managed to lose at canasta quite spectacularly! Oh we'll it was only a game, and not really of any eternal significance.

Upwards ... Upwords ... What a difference a letter can make! Careful spelling required! I guess the words we use to one another can also have a very different effect on people based on the way we say them too. The differences in tone and emphasis can change a compliment into something derogatory, or something that is meant to be encouraging into something that does just the opposite.
