Winter sunrise

Nearing the winter solstice has the benefit of the sun getting out of bed late, bringing skies like this.

I do love this time of year. Some folk find the short days and long dark nights a drag and yes it can be dreich and miserable and you wonder if the sun will ever return but that just makes the moments of sunshine and colour and cold crisp days even more magical.

Tis the season to be jolly after all.
