Heron

I nearly always take a walk at lunchtime, sometimes I just happen to catch a glimpse of a heron, so of late I've had my 300mm with me just in case an opportunity presents itself.

The light today was quite bright, which allowed me to shoot without a tripod. Mr. Heron duly obliged by sitting still for ten mins whilst I took his picture. I was hoping that he might take flight and present me with another shot, but on this occasion he was happy just sitting there and soak up the midday sun.
