Sunlight and stormy seas
Madeiran weather can be extreme and incredibly beautiful. They've been talking about an expected rough sea for days apparently. I'm not sure if this is it but my balcony view this morning was rather different.
The sun peeping through the clouds, streaks across the sky, as the waves rose so so high.
Seawater surging over the walls and adding to the pools. (They will empty and clean them and we'll be back in business very soon)
I've just looked it up. The airport (very sensitive to winds normally) is still open. But the Porto Santo daily ferry has stayed safe in the harbour. A big Aida cruise ship was in overnight and looks as though it's going nowhere yet.
I'm so spoilt, watching safely as Nature gives us a splendid show. And knowing that gentle warm sunshine may be back fairly soon.
