Journey Through Time

Christmas Tree Hunt

A collage of our Christmas Tree Hunt. Top is the actual tree farm which has a very pretty setting. Second is a barn we passed on the way to the farm and then our tree as it stood, in the wild so to speak, and then after the great woodsman took it down.

Then we brought it home and sat it in a bucket of water and it will acclimate for a day or so in the garage before we bring it in the house. Going from freezing weather to the inside temps might not be good for it. This is a Nobel Fir tree.

I understand that the East Coast, because of it's population gets most of the weather reporting, but I do have to say...there has been problems in the Northwest because of this cold weather. In Eugene, Oregon it got to MINUS 10 DEGREES F. That's pretty rare to get that cold on this side of the Cascade Mountain range. There is still a lot of snow on the ground in Eugene and Corvallis, where we are supposed to be going at the end of the week to help celebrate my step-mom's 80th birthday. Anyway...lots of weather related incidents, school and event closures, etc around these parts but we have been just fine at our house. I'm supposed to take my aunt to the dentist and another errand tomorrow and I hope the weather doesn't mess this up as she needs to be seen. She broke a tooth and needs to know what is coming next. Well, I know what's coming next...they will have to pull what's left of it as she broke it at the gum line. Ick. She's not a happy camper right now and I can't blame her.

Anyway...time to go. Keep warm my friends in the north.
