Billy Minikin

I had a meeting today which took place in the local fire station offices. On arrival I was told to go to the "Minikin room".

What an odd name for a boardroom, I thought to myself. But when entered the room and saw this plaque on the wall I realised why.

It's a quiet little reminder to any visitors to the station, of the local heroes that many of us take for granted and what an amazing job they do.

(p.s. Whilst at the station I had a quick lookout for any hunky firemen who may be on duty, but alas, they were all hiding! Maybe next time!)
