Through Jo's Lens

Lincoln Christmas Market

Had a Sunday drive of a fair few miles to Lincoln to see the Christmas market. I've never been to Lincoln in my life....Brian had been once before for a footie match so hadn't looked around the town itself and we both thought it was a lovely place. I liked the variety of shops along Steep Hill....my favourite shop was the one selling Russian dolls as I have a fascination with them.

The Christmas market had lots of independent stalls which made it more homely than most of the big, super organised Christmas markets. There was a stall selling Russian dolls so I picked up a really cute set of them...Brian got some Beatles ones for one of his daughters. The lady on that stall couldn't believe that we'd travelled over 120 miles just to go to the market.....and I bought her favourite dolls from her. I believed her because they are lovely ( I will blip them) but maybe I'm gullible!? We had mulled wine at the market, nut roast rolls (!) in the museum cafe, mince pies, more mulled wine at the market...ha! There was a stall selling "odes" so we found odes to a "postie", a "phlebotomist" and a "springer spaniel"!

The driver's window on my car doesn't work properly, well it does work but the button is awkward so there is only me who has the knack to open and close it correctly. Brian was driving and had to wind the window down to pay a fee for a toll bridge we crossed. He couldn't get the window up and there was nowhere to park so we had to drive a few miles with the window down and the wind whipping around our necks.....it was funny at the time but a relief to finally get the window up!
