Music of Old White Ladies

One of my favorite music venues in Seattle is The Royale Room. So when I read on their Facebook page that they were going to have an artist, Jimmie Herrod, singing music of "old white ladies" I knew I must attend. The music Jimmie sang was of Karen Carpenter and Barbara Streisand. He had a string quartet and a band so the orchestration was terrific. I especially loved Karen Carpenter in my youth. Jimmie paid fine homage to these women and I found myself singing along. I'll certainly check out another one of his shows as this one was great fun!
