I gave the Tatton Yule Yomp a miss this morning in favour of a festive day out with family. We went down the road to the Christmas Fair at The Plassey, and it was great. Not much there for grownups but for a little one it was more than enough with a few little fairground rides, a 'throw-the-ball-into-the-jar' stall (which littleA won!) and a few locally produced wotsits and tipples for sample and sale. There was a St Nic grotto which we toyed with queuing for but the waiting time was huge and we heard it wasn't worth it, so my mum took littleA and ladySp33d for a ride in the horse-drawn carriage instead whilst me and my Dad made a start on a crafty bag of coffee fudge standing next to a warm oven from one of the food stalls. It was great to see him and my Mum enjoying things, and I was made up. We got home just after a lunch outside of cheese&ham pancakes, hotdogs and coffee/hotchoc, and cosied our toes by the fire to watch The Snowman before cooking marshmallows on sticks by the fire as a pre-teatime treat.

LittleA said it was 'a best day in the world'.
