Painter of Skies?

I remember ages ago, with my sister, looking at some paintings by Velazquez in some gallery in Barcelona. And we started talking about Velazquian skies. I have no idea what a Velazquian sky looks like so we probably just said things like, "I bet they are big and blue with loads of fluffy clouds".
And now I'd probably say something like, "I bet he'd have loved Photoshop".
