We were going backwards...
....uphill from Carrbridge.
Signals broken on the way north, still broken on the way south. An extra two hours on trains in one weekend. On a 150 mile journey that normally already takes 4 hours!!
But I finished Gardam's novel 'Old Filth' (wonderful), read a whole Sunday newspaper, and started Tove Jansson's "Sculptor's Daughter", none of which can be done on my weekday cycle commute or driving up the A9.
