Not to be confused with holly....

Holly berries are not the only red berries around. I also have this skimmia in my garden and for reasons best known to themselves, the birds leave these berries alone. I'm also intrigued that skimmia has both flowers and berries at the same time. I use sprigs of skimmia at Christmas too and I noticed that my neighbour has lots of red cotoneaster berries just over the wall from me! Lots of opportunities :-D
