Sun Over Easy

Woke at 6am this morning for no apparent reason. It only took ten minutes or so to realize that I wasn't going to slip back to sleep. There was to be no more slumbering.

So upon discovering the cloud covered sky, I gathered myself and headed out to capture a sunrise.

I drove to higher ground by a protected wildlife area and just sat quietly awaiting the light of day.

It was wonderfully peaceful and meditative. I really enjoyed the silence.

When the sun did rise it took a few minutes before it could climb up behind an ocean of low lying clouds.

I knew I'd feel it later but for that moment the vision of sun over easy was worth it.
