Kissin' the pink

This imposing edifice used to be a Picture House. Like most contained villages in the Rhondda Valley we had our own cinema. To compete with the bigger cinemas in the main town it would run a lot of "X" certificate films. These were mainly the Hammer Horror House films and the Poe classics and became a draw for a lot of youngsters who were willing to chance the Management and gain entry.
Architecturally thee building was nothing special and triangular in shape, but it did have this imposing facade at the end which housed the entrance and projector room.
As the photo shows the building is still used but as a pool hall.
