The Perfect Apple.
High winds have brought some of the apples down prematurely.
They are not the prettiest cookers I've ever seen, but they taste great. Wonderful in puddings - but pan-fried in butter as an accompaniment to savory dishes they are just the business.
Did think about using the healing tool to clean up the blemishes on the skin - it would have made for a more acceptable apple image - but decided against. We may have gone a significant way down the road to standardizing the fruit we see in supermarkets today - but As Keith Floyd argued years ago, that hasn't necessarily meant that the quality has improved at the same time.
So, here it is, - the totally natural, genetically unmodified, pesticide free but very blemished, perfect apple.
