I know, I know, it's a rubbish image, the lightening was shocking, I didn't use fill in flash when I should have, the positioning, the false smile! However, this is a picture which has been 3 years in the making/taking! From early on I realised I like portraits and I have wanted to stop a random person and ask, as so many others here do. I have never had the nerve.
Today I visited a 'Funk Fair', vintage clothing in Morningside! Hilarious as half the old ladies are still wearing their vintage with no idea. Fresh from the delights of Glasgow I was looking for something different. I took my camera as I imagined a hustle and bustle of the most fabulously dressed men and women. How wrong, we were in Morningside and it's not the done thing is it. A small church hall with around 8 stalls. Less than 8 people passed through during my time there. This lady helped me with a bow tie for my boy. She had the most fabulous clothes, none of which fitted my curves. She wasn't pushy as some others were, she was gentle and talked of the era, the people who would have worm the clothes, the dances and high times they would have seen. It was no surprise that she was a History teacher during the week. She was joined by her girl, both stunning beauties together. I'm only sorry that as I blurted out would you mind..... I hadn't considered the camera settings or techniques. You'd think in three years I would have learnt something, least of all the boy scout moto of be prepared!
