South Wales Sunset

What a fantastic day!

We made an early start this morning. It took about 4 hours to get to South Wales, but the weather was fine, and the traffic wasn't too bad. When we arrived at the campsite, it was pretty busy, despite hurricane weather conditions the week before! We parked up and went for a walk down to the cliffs, and I took lots of pictures. The old airfield that the campsite is next to is full of sheep, and they didn't mind posing for a few shots.

Back at the campsite, more people had arrived, including a campervan full of Evil Goats! (and Non-Evil Doggies!)
PimpmasterJ set to work setting up the tent (take out of bag, shake, attach to some ground pegs), and we drank lots of nice hot tea. A plan to go and do some surfing soon emerged...

Luckily Anna was kind enough to lend me a wetsuit, and I reaquaninted myself with the fun that is kitting up in a cold damp carpark (used to do this for UK diving many, many years ago!)

As a total newcomer to the whole surfing/bodyboarding malarkey, I had fun flinging myself (mainly fruitlessly) after waves, although I am proud to say that I DID actually catch a few. It may have been a small percentage out of those attempted, but hey - it's good when it works!

We must have been in the water for hours, but it didn't feel like that long. When we got out, the sun was beginning to set, and luckily I had my camera in the car. It was just beautiful.

Back at the campsite, Anna cooked up a feast, and beer was drunk.

The 2-man tent was surprisingly excellent, and we slept well.
