Window
My first admission that Christmas is coming!
This is one of my neighbour's houses. A former shop, he always decorates the window beautifully and this year was no exception.
It was the 'Victorian Evening' in my village tonight; the main road is closed and stalls set up - including a roast chestnut seller (shades of Johnny Morris, for those of you old enough to remember). There are various performances by brass bands, choirs, morris dancers and fire jugglers, with the parish hall full of stalls and all the shops open and serving mulled wine and mince pies. Windows are decorated and most of the village turns out to have a walk round. There are lights festooning the road and it is a really nice atmosphere.
It was all due to finish at about eight o'clock and almost spot on, it began to rain, so the street cleared pretty quickly. By morning it will all be back to normal.
