Sloe Gin

The bottles get a good shake every day, should be ready to decant some time after Christmas. Some sloes fall to the bottom, some float to the top - that's about as interesting as it gets until you drink it. The bottles here have just been shaken so the sloes are making their mind up whether to sink or swim.

Put some shelves up in the office today. You can never have enough shelves. It only took three trips to Wickes. I've noticed that this store seems to put men in to a trance. If you stand by the shelves stacked with fixings there's usually about three or four blokes just swaying in unison, looking slightly sad, trying to make sense of all the different screw lengths and sizes. You can stand there for ages before anyone moves. Then you make a grab for a pack, drive home, only to realise you've bought the wrong ones or need a bigger drill bit. Hence three trips. I got there in the end.
