'Biggles'

This is the cockpit area of Biggles at the Jet Age Museum. Biggles was built by Chris Radford, who heads up the restoration team, as a childrens fundraising attraction. When she was first built she took part in the Gloucester Carnival but was disqualified from any awards because the judging panel thought she was a real aeroplane - DOH!!!!
I must admit that she is very realistic, the aerolons and rudder work with the joystick and rudder pedals, the propellor turns when the little red handle is cranked as well. They were going to put an electric motor in it to turn the propellor but that was ruled out on H&S ground, (Feel another DOH! is required there!).
