Awesome!

The only word to describe St Peter's Basilica... a beautiful sunny morning thought we'd head for the Vatican before the crowds. After an hours walk from the hotel by the Tiber we decided to go up to the cupola first, after all those steps (they are very steep and very narrow) thought I was going to pass out, we got to the top and the view which can go on for miles was slightly covered in mist, bit disappointing considering how clear it was from the ground looking up. This blip is on the way down looking back up to the cupola - view in large to see the people on the balcony where I'd just been, to get an idea of the scale.

We went inside but my photographs just didn't do the place justice!
