Leonardo`s Flywheel.

This is an exact replica of Leonardo da Vinci flywheel lathe. He drew the makings in 1482. About ten years ago the Lord Mayor City of London wanted one for his parades/shows,so he got Stuart King (in photo and Worshipful Company of Turners) to make this one.

It was on show today at the Medieval Week end, held in Cranborne by the Dorset Ancient Technology Centre. Very interesting. Plenty to see and have a go at.
