Shaken, not stirred...

At least one of us has some Christmas cheer.

Little dude is getting more and more excited about the too rapidly approaching hell festive season. I guess that's the joy of being six (and three quarters).

He was nagging me all week to get Christmas cards for him to write to his friends, which was held off until today because of the chaos with moving house, having gastro, and making my back injury worse. He picked out the bulk pack of cards (super cute cards, I will admit), and personalised more than two dozen cards. None of this generic "Dear ............. From Ben" stuff. Each card was different, he used a combination of red and green markers, only needed help spelling a few words (mostly names), and he took time to make sure his writing was at its best. You can see how lovely his handwriting is on the envelope to the side.

Christmas-ness aside, I was so very proud of him. Not many kids his age put in enough thought into cards as to make each one different. And I am fairly sure that his handwriting is phenomenal - I might be biased, but I have worked in schools with kids between five and 12 years of age, and my little dude's writing is neater than most of the older kids.

At least he has some Christmas cheer in him. I'm becoming more and more Bah Humbug by the day.
