Farewell

Now what was I saying about planting trees for the future?
This one we planted as a firewood crop some 20 years ago.
I have watched it grow every one of those rings. Now it's time has come and it was shading out some of the smaller and choicer shrubs so call chainsaw man.
It will keep us warm for several weeks and I will thank it every day! And plant something else further up the garden to replace it.
