On the Euston Road on the way to meet Anne and Des for a drink and a curry at the Diwana - very simple but a great evening. I'm always shocked by the cost of drinks in London - a round at the Exmouth Arms costs almost twice as much as a round at the Wetherspoons here.

Having said that, as well as the Diwana being simply the best curry house, the Exmouth Arms is one of my favourite pubs. Astonishingly for a pub so near the centre of town (a five minute walk from Tottenham Court Road) it has the feeling of a proper local. Service is good, you can nearly always get a seat and the beers aren't bad either. It has a friendly cozy atmosphere and (with my shopfitters hat on) the gents has been recently done up to quite a good standard
