cherish what remains

loss

There was a lot of busyness in the morning as I prepared for Open Studios and then the phone rang.

One of my closest friends died today. I'm not sure what to say. I'm too sad and tired and worn out to tell you how wonderful she was and how much I'll miss her...

This is a photo of Susan and her husband, Barry. Susan is dying. The tumors that caused her to loose her arm have spread, it's just a matter of time, she said.

And then there was 91 year old, Verene, who showed up clutching the newspaper article about me in her hand. Drove all the way there by herself just to see the work in person. She bought a piece that reminded her of the garden she used to have.

Art. Art heals.
