lilongwe

didn?t sleep too well last night, and after being up at 2a for my flight, it was quite difficult to stay awake during the flights. fortunately this was still the case when I arrived nairobi, which made the multiple hour layover (in such a barren airport by the way) tolerable. next thing I remember is landing in malawi.

here?s the view from the room at the capital sunbird. i stopped here first because i still felt exhausted and needed a nap before visiting anyone today. furthermore, as today was just a transit day, there were no firm plans to meet with anyone until the afternoon.

did finally meet with my contact at about 5:30p (not that long a nap, he just wouldn?t pick up his telephone) and we visited his facility for a few hours. afterwards, we visited a few of the guest houses in the area, having a drink or two along the way.

note to self: when back in lilongwe, stay at the guest houses ? much cozier.
