Independence day

Today it's 96th independence day of Finland. I took Ahti out in the pushchair to make him take a nap. My blip's from that walk, taken from almost the same place as my blip year ago, shot at the breakwater at the harbour. In the afternooon we visited my wife's parents.

For some reason it's very popular in Finland to watch the independence day party at the presidential palace from TV. Members of the parliament, celebrities and other elite are invited and people are watching for hours when they shake hands with the president, dance, eat etc. And while watching they comment on the clothes of the guests. Also the commentators in TV comment on the clothes. I'm not really that much into cloth design so I can't imagine a more boring activity for independence day. Luckily good food with family/relatives/friends is also usually included in the Finnish celebration of the independence day.
