Bronze ballerina

I went out to the M&S on Oxford street during my lunch hour today in search of socks. The shop was busy but I found the right size of socks and got to use a discount voucher a friend had given me.

As I walked back to the office through the crowds, I caught sight of this bronze ballerina on top of the rather gaudy Plaza shopping centre. It seems she is a relic of a bygone era and survived the blitz. She was on the front of a department store called Bourne & Hollingsworth. She still looks quite elegant posing over Oxford Street.
