Ninja shopping
I don’t know where the day went, but I puttered around all morning, fiddling with the central heating (which seems to have a mind of its own), hanging out the washing, chatting to the neighbour, who is moving next week. Not because we arrived, I hasten to add. They were renting, and have now bought nearby.
I was browsing wine racks online for some of the time. We have space between the fridge and the bench which is ideal. But every wine rack is too big, or too small. But I hit on the Argos one, which will be too tall, as we’ll use two of them, but I think I can chop it down to size quite easily.
And so, when JR came home (early day in Edinburgh schools) and approved of the choice, I hot footed it into town and did a ninja shop - in and out in record time. I had thought I’d go for a wander and get a blip but it was bloomin’ freezin’! Not even any wind. Just brass monkeys.
But when I got my parcels, they were rather large - there actually being two wine racks in each box - though not heavy. There was no way I could wander around with those and get a blip, so I grabbed the next bus home, thinking I might go out again once the wine racks had been deposited.
At the bus stop, the clouds over Calton Hill looked rather good, and I used the ‘panorama’ feature on my camera for the first time. That's part of the station roof in the middle foreground, and right foreground are the council offices. Away in the distance on the right are the two chimneys of the now defunct Cockenzie Power Station, which have featured on many blips from the coast road.
Home now. Wine rack fits, just too tall. Where is my wee saw? We seem to have a habit of buying stuff, then chopping bits off...
