You're Missing

To quote The Boss

"You're missing
As I shut out the light
You're missing
As I see the sun rise
You're missing"

However, if you weren't missing I would have gone to work as normal on my birthday, I would have bought a cake to share and accepted my happy birthdays off everyone. I would have finished work at my normal time, collected the children after school brought another cake to you, received my birthday present from you and dad, had a cup of tea and slice of cake and then returned home for a little glass of wine and reflected on my nice day.

But today my dearest mam you are missing and I didn't look forward to this day. But guess what - I have survived it! I have done things I don't normally do. I took the day off. I visited an old friend of yours and dad who shares my birthday and is 80 and it was a pleasant morning. We then went for lunch with my friend. I visited my little brother (twice), I walked the dogs.

So to make a positiive out of a negative I have had a different but very nice birthday.

And although you are missing in person in my life you are never missing in my heart. Xx
