Snow, snow, snow!

At 10am a shower(?) of snow... But is it a shower really, if the water is solid?

In finnish we have this word called sadekuuro or vesikuuro as it rains water only shortly. And raekuuro if there is hails in the air. The short snowing is called lumikuuro... But the plain word kuuro is used for deaf ones, humans, animals etc. Funny really.
