Seeing the light..

coming through a Cotinus Coggygria 'Royal Purple' leaf at this time of year.. to me, is quite exquisite!

This photo is straight from the camera and shows the smooth top of the leaf. It looks like it is deeply veined but in reality that is all showing through from the underside... the shadows being cast from underneath.

A beautiful day today albeit with a cold wind.. nothing like as strong as the storm in northern England and central Scotland from what I can gather but enough to be filling the air with leaves and to see a few trees and branches falling. It took me several shots to get one that was not blurred from the wind.. not the best day for close up leaf shots but with the wind comes the sun and that seems to have been a rarity here recently so I thought I would take the opportunity.
