Enjoying an illusion

An old friend came by. We didn't have time to get a fire going, but a perpetually burning fireplace video app on the iPad did a good job of substitution, with its random flames and crackling sound effects. The friend was amused. He said "would you believe, I actually feel warmer on that side than on the other?"
