Antarctic Fur Seal

We had an early start for our second excursion to Salisbury Plain and this time the weather was less forgiving, with plenty of snow and rain. I focussed on penguins and seals, but I didn't really get any worthwhile shots. I was lucky though as quite a few people had issues with their cameras due to the wet and some were unlucky enough to have broken their cameras for the whole trip.

However things looked up once we moved further south-east and nudged into Fortuna Bay out of the fierce wind. The sun was shining and there was a fantastic vista of the König Glacier and a backdrop of mountains which form the backbone of the island. Again there were plenty of penguins and seals plus recently exposed geology and glacial geomorphology due to the rapid recession of the glacier. A lovely afternoon !
