Building a Creative Future
I was at the Building a Creative Nation Summit in the National Galleries in Edinburgh today run by Creative and Cultural Skills scotland.
The Creative Industries in Scotland are an area that haven't been in recession and it's great to hear about new initiatives and commitments to train our young people in these areas and to find out how we can be involved in ways we haven't considered previously.
It was a very full and informative event. There was also some participation by young people who are taking part in various initiatives within the creative industries. Modern apprentices, interns, students and the band pictured here. They are called Harry and the Hendersons and have been signed to the label, Electric Honey that is run by the Music Business students at Glasgow Kelvin College. You can buy their single on ITunes, I think they're pretty good, have a listen to their 2 singles if you have 5 minutes.
