With its cliffs, rocks, and sand dunes this is one of Scotland’s most spectacular and varied beaches. It is easily accessible from various car parks. Just above the beach are an excellent campsite and a visitor centre with good local information.

A short distance to the east of the beach is the famous Smoo Cave. The largest cave in Scotland, it was formed by both the sea and a river.
